Thanks

Hey, I wanted to give some thanks to those who have helped get this up and running:

My wife Deborah and kids, Alexander, Sammy, Rebecca and Will for their great support and love. Especially, when you're dealing with a crazy dad.

Patty Macmillan for going beyond the call of duty

Jeff Huang for his blog start up

Colleen Shapiro for her great ideas and support

Megan Macmillan for stepping in on a Saturday for ten hours of work...

Mary Poudrier for helping out in all areas

Cori Weber for her design of the mailer and putting up with my lack of focus.

All the gang at the Charcot Marie Tooth Assc. and board members who's hard work and dedication make my doing this look like a piece of cake.

Everyone at First Artists Management

Anyone I missed, I'll do another post...but thank you all...

Love,

Vasi

My physical therapist Tito Ramirez from BodyLogic Sports Medicine. Got my shoulder ready to my next stage of lifting, throwing, running, and hitting. He's great, thanks Tito.

Intro:

As some of you may or may not know, I have a form of Muscular Dystrophy (MD) known as Charcot- Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease. Although this is one of the most common forms of MD — effecting one in every 2,500 people— medical science is still striving to develop a cure. Recently, I have been thinking about how I could help support the efforts put forth by the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association beyond my personal contributions. I joined their board in April of 2009 and have decided to share my involvement. But how? I had to ask myself; do we need one more charity dinner.... or one more auction.... or one more walkathon? My answer was no, but there is a catch… or rather a hit. In an effort to raise awareness and funds, no matter how self serving or off the wall it may sound, I decided on a new approach.
For the past few years, I’ve attended The San Francisco Giants Fantasy Camp in Arizona. This year, it is scheduled for the week of January 24th, 2010. I am asking that you commit to “X” amount of dollars to CMT Research based on my “legendary baseball skills.” For example, if I make ten base hits during
the week of camp and you pledge $20.00 per base hit, then your total donation will be $200 (10 hits x $20 = $200). Simple, right?
I truly believe your participation will be fun but, more importantly, rewarding for a cause that is obviously close to my heart and consciousness. For now, I am one of the lucky ones living with less debilitating effects from CMT but there are so many who suffer. I hope you take a moment to review the enclosed
CMT information and visit the CMTA website for updates on their research.
With sincere thanks for your consideration,
Vasi Vangelos
